Ferrill Gibbs is a longtime resident of the southernmost tip of South Alabama, and as an artist he comes as conglomerated as the gumbo they serve in those parts: an author, a podcaster, a singer, a songwriter, and an instrumentalist.
His new band All The Kimonos sees him playing "country mouse" to his collaborative counterpart, Brent Busby. Ferrill brings the lyrics and perspective of a small-town life while Brent - Sound designer and Composer for Adult Swim in Atlanta - plays "city mouse" to their association, smartly arranging the sounds they create, polishing them with an expertise acquired from all his years studying music as a prodigious child player and beyond.
Cementing those perspectives is South Carolina bassist Ivan Ruyle, who is sometimes forced to issue a veto in the occasional deadlock, but with a gentle touch he's developed over time - and a deep, shared love for the band - he consistently nudges the music gracefully forward toward a better place.
From all this springs a unique, multifaceted, and heartfelt new sound of music.
